I have compiled a list of a few sweet romances to stream, including where you can view them as of this writing! Since we are talking movies, I would like to introduce my number one resource for screening content: Common Sense Media. Here you can view comments from both parents and children on the specific content in a book or movie that they found offensive or valuable in order to make great entertainment decisions for you and your family!

Here are some of my picks:

1. A Princess For Christmas

Rating: PG

Available on Netflix and IMDb TV (linked below via Amazon)

If you are a fan of happy, seasonal flicks, this picture is a great choice for you! The beautiful Katie McGrath plays an antique-lover who adopts her niece and nephew after her sister’s tragic death. With the aid of a butler named-yes-Paisley Winterbottom, the children reconcile with their royal relatives in time for Christmas. Their Aunt Jules also finds an unexpected romance within the walls of the castle. My favorite parts about this movie include the importance of family and friends, and the holiday ambiance!

2. Pride and Prejudice

Rating: PG

Available on Netflix

It is a truth universally acknowledged that there is no way Pride and Prejudice is not making it on this list! I was so excited to see one of my all-time favorite movies available to stream! The filmmaking is simply beautiful. The emotional movement of Jane Austen’s beloved classic is perfectly captured by the scenery, actors, music, and director’s choices. You will feel humor, frustration, devastation, and joy! This is a must-watch, and one to rewatch.

3. Ever After

Rating: PG-13

Available on Disney Plus

This Cinderella reimagining takes a familiar tale to a new level with a beautiful historical setting and intensified emotions! The two villainesses of the tale–the jealous stepmother, Anjelica Houston, and the vain stepsister, Megan Dodds–offer standout performances. The heroine Danielle is compassionate, but she is also intelligent and outspoken about injustice. Her prince must overcome his own bias to accept the girl of high character who sparks his mind and wins his heart, even though her poverty relegates her to a much lower status.
